Google (Drive, Gmail, Calendar)
Connect Google Drive, Gmail, and Calendar to AINexLayer
What it does
Links your Google account so AINexLayer can work with three services:
- Google Drive — import files into your knowledge base
- Gmail — search, read, draft, and send email from chat
- Google Calendar — search and manage events from chat
One Google sign-in covers all three. Write actions (creating files, sending email, editing events) always ask for your confirmation in chat before they run.
How it works
Google is an external connector. You connect once through the Connectors dialog — nothing runs in API Playground.
- Drive — files are imported through Documents → Import → Google Drive, then indexed into your knowledge base. Ask about them in chat after indexing completes.
- Gmail and Calendar — the agent queries your account live in Chat. Nothing is copied into AINexLayer in the background.
Connect
- Open Connectors in your workspace
- Choose Google (Drive, Gmail, Calendar)
- Click Connect and sign in with Google
- Approve the requested permissions
- Confirm the connector shows as active on the Active tab
Import Drive files
- Open the Documents sidebar
- Click Import → Google Drive
- Browse and select the files or folders you want
- Wait for indexing to finish — imported files appear alongside your uploads and notes
- In Chat, type
@and pick the imported file (or ask after indexing). Tagging the file keeps the answer focused on that content.
Use Gmail and Calendar in chat
After connecting, open Chat, type @, and pick Gmail or Google Calendar from the mention list. Then ask your question.
The @ tag tells the agent to use that connector. Without it, a normal question may not touch Gmail or Calendar at all.
Specify a date range, sender, or event title to narrow results. Start with a small scope (one day of email, one week's calendar) before expanding.
